Bjorklund on a tear from 3-point range

Don't look now, but Angie Bjorklund's heating up from 3-point range.

Over the last three games, she's 12-of-18 from behind the arc, which includes her 5-of-8 performance during Sunday's win over Oklahoma. Going back to UT's win over Louisville last month, Bjorklund's connected on 55 percent of her 3-point shots.

The junior has always been a gym rat, and this offseason she spent plenty of time working on her shot in Pratt Pavilion. But one of the reasons why she's shooting so well lately takes place well before the ball leaves her hand.

"The shot's always the same," said Bjorklund, who's shooting 46 percent on the season from 3-point range. "I think it's really just working without the ball. Getting open and working for my shot before I actually get the ball. I think it's huge trying to create space and that type of thing."

She's even better in the second half, too.

One media member asked Bjorklund on Tuesday if she was aware she was shooting 69 percent from 3-point range in the second half.

"I didn't even know that," Bjorklund said.

Her snap hypothesis was that perhaps she has a better feel for how opponents will guard her and how they defend different types of screens in the second half than the first.

Whatever the reason, the Lady Vols certainly hope it continues as they begin SEC play on Thursday night against South Carolina (TV: Fox Sports Net, 7 p.m.).
