In case you haven't been following a lot of news out of the Senior Bowl this week in Mobile, Ala., defensive tackle Dan Williams continues to improve his draft stock.
Not that it should be a major surprise.
Williams is in position to be a first-round pick, and barring something crazy at the combine or individual workouts, it's hard to see him slipping past the second round.
It's a major testament to Williams, who came to Tennessee in 2005 with some weight issues. But he fought back, shed the pounds he needed to and became a really solid defensive tackle in his last two seasons with the Vols.
It's also worth noting, too, with Signing Day less than a week away, that Williams was just a three-star prospect coming out of Memphis East.
A lot of the time fans get caught up on stars and hype during recruiting season. It's been said before -- yet it's worth repeating as long as recruits become stars before they set foot on college campuses - but it's truly impossible to judge a player, let alone an entire recruiting class, before they see the field.
