Hoops News: Harris to Play in Exhibition; Tatum on Lindy's Cover

Former Tennessee basketball player Tobias Harris, the 19th overall selection in June's NBA Draft, has joined a star-studded roster of NBA players taking part in an exhibition game at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah, on Thursday, Sept. 22.

The event is the brainchild of fellow first-round pick Jimmer Fredette, who was taken 10th overall out of BYU by the Sacramento Kings. The exhibition's name: Jimmer's All-Stars.

Other 2011 NBA draftees already committed to participate include Kemba Walker, Nolan Smith and Kawhi Leonard. Full rosters are expected to be announced next week.

The game will be broadcast by BYUtv and KSL radio.

Harris has been staying in shape during the ongoing NBA lockout by training in Tennessee's on-campus basketball facilities. Former NBA All-Star and Vols All-America Dale Ellis also has spent time on Rocky Top in recent weeks putting Harris through various workouts and drills.

Harris, who earned Freshman All-America acclaim last season, also is taking classes at UT this semester.

Senior guard Cameron Tatum appears on one of the regional covers of Lindy's Sports College Basketball Preview, which hit newsstands this week.

A native of Lithonia, Ga., and the most experienced returner on the Vols' roster, Tatum enters his final season on Rocky Top just 194 points shy of becoming the 44th all-time member of Tennessee's 1,000-Point Club.
