Former Vol John-Patrick Smith and Baylor standout John Peers accepted their second winner's trophy in as many weeks Sunday in Australia.
A week after winning in the Burnie International, Smith and Peers secured back-to-back Challenger doubles titles with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory over the top-seeded team of John Paul Fruttero and Raven Klaasen in the final of the Caloundra International.
The collegiate duo rolled through all four matches in Caloundra in straight sets. Their semifinal match took just 48 minutes.
In two weeks, Smith and Peers accumulated an 8-0 record and bagged a shared $6,200 and 160 tour points each. Smith has won five professional doubles titles, having won three $10,000 Futures events last year with Ben Rogers.
Smith will crack the top 300 in the ATP doubles rankings on Monday for the first time in his career. He is currently ranked No. 431 in singles, highest for Vols currently on the professional tour.
