The draw for the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic was released on Wednesday with the Vols scheduled to play a trio of non-conference opponents over the weekend in Montgomery, Ala.
The Vols face Clemson on Friday at 4 p.m., Texas Tech on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Boise State on Sunday. The tournament features a round robin format. The top two teams with the best record will face off in one doubles match to determine the champion.
The prestigious Blue Gray Classic, one of the oldest annual tennis tournaments in the nation, began in 1949 as an individual tournament but adopted a team format in 1984. Tennessee most recently played in the Blue Gray in 2009, winning the title with the help of a 4-0 performance atop the lineup by tournament MVP John-Patrick Smith. Boris Conkic and Matteo Fago went 4-0 in doubles as well.
