For a second week in a row, former Vols Rhyne Williams and Tennys Sandgren are back in the doubles final of a Texas Futures event.
Williams and Sandgren will play for back-to-back trophies Saturday when they take on fourth-seeded Thomas Fabbiano and Di Wu in the title match of the Harlingen Futures, a $15,000 event.
The Vol duo reached the finals by beating Canadians Peter Polansky and Filip Peliwo in a third set super tiebreaker 6-4, 4-6, [10-5]. The Tennessee team is now on a seven-match winning streak, having won the tournament at Brownsville last week.
In singles, Williams lost in the first round to former Knoxville Challenger foe Luka Gregorc. Sandgren reached the second round where he lost to top-seeded Polansky 6-3, 6-4.
