Former Vols Rhyne Williams and Tennys Sandgren won their second consecutive professional doubles title in Texas on Sunday afternoon.
Williams and Sandgren rallied to beat fourth-seeded Thomas Fabbiano of Italy and Di Wu of China 6-7 (6), 7-5, [10-6] to take the title at the Harlingen Futures in Texas.
Last week, the second-seeded Vol duo won the doubles title in Brownsville. They've now won four doubles titles together, three since turning pro over the summer. Williams and Sandgren are now on a career-best eight-match winning streak.
On tour next week: One former Vol will be on the courts next week, and that's John-Patrick Smith, Tennessee's SEC Athlete of the Year who has returned to North America for the Canadian and USTA Pro Circuits. Starting Tuesday, he will play a three-week series in Canada, starting with a $15,000 Futures tournament.
