Pettitt nabs share of fourth at Mexico Open

Tennessee golf alum Philip Pettitt, Jr. wrapped up play at the Mexico Open Presented by Banamex Sunday, earning a share of fourth place at the event.

With an 11-under 277 in the four-day Nationwide Tour event, the former Vol collected $27,500.00, nearly doubling his season earnings. The finish was his best in 2012 and the second top-10 placement in his career.

Lee Williams won the Open with a 14-under 274 score at the par 72, 7,708-yard El Bosque Golf Club in Leon, Mexico.

The Murfreesboro, Tenn., product lettered for the Big Orange from 2004 to 2008 where he won his first collegiate tournament in his rookie campaign. He wrapped up his UT career with a 73.31 scoring average in 128 rounds played for the Vols.
