In singles, Libietis lost 6-3, 7-6 (6) to third-seeded and world No. 484 Michal Schmid.

This week marks Libietis' final summer tournament before returning to Tennessee for his second season. He was first-team All-SEC as a freshman last year, starting every match at No. 1 singles and doubles.

KNS Tennis Notebook: Jimmy Hyams' weekly tennis notebook centers on associate head coach Chris Woodruff and where professional tennis fits in the Olympic Games. Woodruff, one of the top Americans in the 1990s and early 2000s did not play in Atlanta in 1996.

Also included in the notebook are junior Lady Vol Brynn Boren, former Vol and current pro John-Patrick Smith and the Vols waiting until 2015 to host the SEC Championships.
