Sophomore Hunter Reese picked up a pair of straight set victories Saturday to advance to the fourth round of the ITA National Collegiate Summer Championships.
After getting a bye in the first round, Reese beat Collin College's Brady Bohrnstedt 6-4, 6-4 and Ohio State's Kevin Metka 6-4, 6-4.
Reese, the tournament's top seed, now faces Texas A&M's Jordan Szabo.
Senior Taylor Patrick won his opening match 3-6, 6-2, [10-6] against Xavier's Michael Moe but lost in the second round 7-6, 6-2 to a 5-8 seed Robert Stineman of Stanford. Fellow senior John Collins lost his first match to 9-16 seed Vikram Hundal 1-6, 6-3, [10-5] but won his match in consolation 6-3, 6-2 to Mississippi's Zach Wilder.
The doubles draw has not been released.
