Former Tennessee pitcher and 2012 National League Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey will take his talents north of the border as he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

As part of the trade, Dickey agreed to a three-year contract valued at $29 million plus a club option worth $12 million in 2016.

"Now that it's official, I want to say that I don't have the words to express how grateful I am to you for the steadfast support and encouragement I received from all of you," Dickey wrote in a message to fans on Twitter. "I've always felt that there was a connection beyond the uniform.Thank you for making me feel wanted."

Dickey was named the NL Cy Young winner after going 20-6 with a 2.73 ERA while striking out 230 in 233 2/3 innings and posting an impressive 1.05 WHIP for the Mets last season.
