Saturday's Tennessee Football Briefing (6/29/13)

- On, check out a story comparing Butch Jones' task to that of the General Robert Neyland, when he was hired. Tennessee football lore says that General Robert Neyland was hired in 1926 and was charged to "even the score" with Vanderbilt, a program that had a commanding 17-2-2 advantage in the series at that point. That daunting challenge was almost completed by The General. The Vols put up a 16-3-2 mark against the Commodores during his tenure, bringing the series to 20-18-4 in favor of Vandy. If not for two military-related interruptions, it's almost a given that UT would've held the edge by the time Neyland left. Check out the full story from Daniel Lewis: Like Neyland, Jones' task is to catch UT up to rivals.
