In NBA Summer League action Monday night, the Miami Heat found the spark it had been searching for in Orlando, Fla. That answer came in the form of former Vol guard Scotty Hopson.
The former All-SEC performer lit up the Brooklyn Nets' summer league squad for 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. Hopson also registered two rebounds, two assists, three steals and no turnovers in 26 minutes of play in the Heat's 93-86 win over Brooklyn.
If things continue to go well for the 6-7 Hopson, he could very well find a spot on the Heat bench come the start of the 2013-14 NBA season. Hopson starred in Israel this past season, emerging as one of the top players in the country.
Tune in tonight (Tuesday) at 5 p.m. ET on NBATV to watch Tobias Harris' Orlando Magic summer league squad takes on Hopson's Heat. Harris' status is questionable for tonight's game, as the Magic is limiting his off-season activity.
