#NFLVols Update (8/30/13)

The final night of NFL Preseason action saw some big performances by former Vols. Here's a look at some big nights:

- It was a huge night for Matt Simms, who played the entire game with the exception of the final snap for the Jets. Simms was 33-of-44 for 285 yards. He connected with fellow VFL Zach Rogers on four receptions for 40 yards.

Packers Chiefs Football
- Huge game for Tyler Bray as he threw three touchdown passes on 14-of-25 for 169 yards. 

- Punter Dustin Colquitt punted five times for 43.4 average. Eric Berry did not play for Kansas City. 

- In a match-up of former Vols receivers, Justin Hunter had four catches for 45 yards including a 17-yard touchdown for Tennessee. 
- Cordarrelle Patterson did not play for Minnesota, neither did linebacker Marvin Mitchell. 

- Jarrod Shaw drew the start at center for Cleveland.

- Luke Stocker had a catch for two yards in a start at tight end for the Buccaneers. 

 - Ben Bartholomew carried the ball once for four yards for the Patriots, his first carry of preseason. 

- Aubrayo Franklin made one tackle for the Colts 

 - Offensive lineman Jacques McClendon was credited with a catch for minus-10 yards in the game for Atlanta. 

- Tauren Poole rushed 10 times for 32 yards for Carolina. He also had a catch. 
- With the Steelers, Ramon Foster started at his normal left guard position.

- Kevin Burnett made three tackles, including a TFL. Omar Gaither made one tackle for Oakland. 
- With Oakland, Denarius Moore started at receiver, but did not have a catch.  Tight end Mychal Rivera did not play either. 
- Tony McDaniel of the Seahawks also sat out. 

- Rookie Dallas Thomas started for the Dolphins at right guard as Miami gained.
- With the Saints, Jabari Greer and newly-acquired Parys Haralson did not play. 

- Robert Meachem had four catches for 23 yards for San Diego. 

- Britton Colquitt punted four times for a 50.8 average. 
- Peyton Manning, Robert Ayers and Malik Jackson did not play for Denver. Dan Williams did not play for Arizona. 

- Morgan Cox snapped nine times for the Ravens while Scott Wells, the starting center for the Rams did not play. 

- Neither Vol Arian Foster or Jason Witten played in the game.
