Considered the springboard to the big leagues, the Arizona Fall League released its preliminary rosters for the 2013 season, and two former Tennessee baseball players got the call.
Teammates during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, pitchers Stephen McCray
and Matt Ramsey
will participate in the league from Oct. 8 - Nov. 16.
McCray, who was recently called up to the Triple-A Charlotte Knights, has posted 10 wins, a 3.67 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 127.2 innings of work with the Knights and Double-A Birmingham Barons this season. He will play for the AFL's Glendale Desert Dogs.
Ramsey, a Knoxville native and former Farragut baseball player, owns one win, a 2.84 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 50.2 innings of work for the Class A-Advanced Charlotte Stone Crabs and the Bowling Green Hot Rods this season. He will play for the AFL's Salt River Rafters.
