Wide Receiver U
Three NFL Vol wide receivers pulled down catches for touchdowns this weekend.
  • Back in the Gold and Black, Robert Meachem had his first TD of the year for New Orleans helping them to a 31-7 victory over Arizona
  • Rookie Justin Hunter had his first catch of the season for Tennessee and it was a big one as he hauled in the game-winning touchdown over San Diego in the final seconds of the game helping Tennessee to a 20-17 win.
  • Denarius Moore capped off the weekend with an outstanding 6 receptions for 124 yards and a 73 yard TD

Taking them Down

  • The Vols were all over the place on the field this weekend combining for 40 tackles, 3.5 sacks, four TFLs and a pick-6
  • Leading the way was Kevin Burnett who registered a game-high 10 tackles against Denver on Monday Night Football.
  • Jerod Mayo totaled a game-high nine tackles in a 23-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Robert Ayres notched two sacks, while teammate Malik Jackson combined for an 11-yard sack of Terrelle Pryor
  • Eric Berry took a Michael Vick pass 36-yards to the house for his second career pick-6

  • Another week, another NFL record as Peyton Manning threw for 374 yards against Oakland Monday night marking his 75th career 300+ yard passing game.
  • Peyton also tossed three touchdowns giving him 12 through the first three games, an NFL record.
