This Day In #Vols History (Oct. 1)



Back on Oct. 1, 1994, Peyton Manning drew his first-career start for the Vols in leading Tennessee to a 10-9 victory over Washington State at Neyland Stadium. Manning went on to post an NCAA-best 39-6 record as a starting quarterback. Here's a look at all 16 Vols' games played on Oct. 1, as Tennessee has compiled an 11-4-1 record.

On Oct. 1, 2005, the Vols won the 750th game in program history, a 27-10 win over Ole Miss. At halftime of that game, Reggie White's No. 92 was retired by Tennessee.
