On Oct. 11, 1980, some 23,000 Vol fans invaded Grant Field in Atlanta to see Tennessee defeat Georgia Tech, 23-10. Freshman Reggie White blocked a punt for a safety and kicker Alan Duncan hit a pair of field goals, including a 55-yarder.

On Oct. 11, 1997, Peyton Manning, Jamal Lewis and the Vols beat the No. 13 Georgia Bulldogs 38-13 at Neyland Stadium. Lewis rushed for 232 yards and Manning passed for 343 in the win.
