This Day In #Vols History (Oct. 3)

Back on Oct. 3, 1925 the Volunteers opened the season with a 51-0 win over Emory & Henry. That started a 55-game undefeated streak at home for the Vols. From 1925 into the 1933 season, the Vols went 52-0-3 at Shields-Watkins Field.

On Oct. 3, 1987, the Vols topped California, 38-12. Jeff Francis threw for 220 yards on 21-of-26.

On Oct. 3, 1992, Tennessee blanked LSU, 20-0 in Baton Rogue as Johnny Majors returned to the sidelines. Charlie Garner ran for 104 yards.
