On Oct. 9, 1982, the Vols tied the undefeated No. 18 Tiger at LSU, 24-24. Willie Gault had a 96-yard kickoff return for a TD and Alan Cockrell threw for 213 yards.

On Oct. 9, 1993, the Vols won at Arkansas, 28-14 as Heath Shuler threw for 307 yards including a TD pass to Craig Faulkner. Cory Fleming had six catches for 101 yards.
