This Day In #Vols History (Dec. 1)

On Dec. 1, 1951, #1 Tennessee defeats Vanderbilt 35-27 on homecoming. The Vols would go on to win the National Championship for a second year in a row under General Neyland.

On Dec. 1, 2001, in a re-scheduled game after the events of Sept. 11, 2001, Tennessee upset No. 2 Florida, 34-32 in a epic game at The Swamp. Travis Stephens ran for 226 yards and two touchdowns. Look back at the game on the 10-year anniversary with Andy Staples: Remembering Tennessee-Florida 2001.
