Manning Named Colorado Athlete of the Year

For the second consecutive year, quarterback Peyton Manning has been named the Colorado Athlete of the Year.

The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame announced the honor Tuesday afternoon. Manning is joined by world-champion skier Mikaela Shiffrin, who was named the women's Colorado Athlete of the Year for 2013.

The decisions were made at a meeting on Tuesday, and Manning now joins Alex English (1982, '85), Joe Sakic (1996, 2001) and teammate Champ Bailey (2005-06) as a two-time Colroado Sports Hall of Fame professional Athlete of the Year recipient.

Manning, already named Sports Illustrated's 2013 Sportsman of the Year, a Pro Bowler for the 13th time and a first-team Associated Press All-Pro for the seventh time, set new single-season NFL records for passing yards (5,477) and passing touchdowns (55) this season.
