Six VFLs Into NFL Conference Championship Games

Six Vols For Life are into the NFL Conference Championship games, headed up by four members of the Denver Broncos, who held on for a 24-17 win over the San Diego Chargers. 

Peyton Manning threw two first-half touchdowns and finished 25-of-36 for 230 yards as he moved to second all-time in career passing yards in the playoffs. 

On defense, Malik Jackson posted a huge sack as part of three tackles. Fellow defensive lineman Robert Ayers had two tackles.

Punter Britton Colquitt did not punt in the game, he did hold on a field goal and three extra points.

The Broncos will face New England, a 43-22 winner over the Colts, on Sunday at 3 p.m., in the AFC Championship. The Patriots roster includes VFL Jerod Mayo, who has been injured and will miss the conference championship.

In the NFC, Tony McDaniel had a pass defended for the Seahawks in their 23-15 win over the Saints. Seattle will take on San Francisco at 6:30 p.m., in the NFC Championship. 

Tennessee has had a player in 21 of the last 22 Super Bowls, dating to 1993.
