#NFLVols Set For Thursday's Preseason Week 1 Action (8/7/14)

The first full weekend of NFL Preseason action gets underway on Thursday with six games. There are VFLs playing in each of the six games:

Colts at Jets, 7 p.m.
Quarterback Matt Simms and his Jets host the Colts at MetLife Stadium. Simms is battling for a back-up spot with the Green and White, competing with Michael Vick and Tajh Boyd.

49ers at Ravens, 7:30 p.m. (NFL Network)
Long snapper Morgan Cox begins his fifth season with the Ravens as they host San Francisco in a battle of the Harbaugh brothers.

Patriots at Redskins, 7:30 p.m.
Linebacker Jerod Mayo and New England are in Washington after practicing with the Redskins this week.

Bengals at Chiefs, 8 p.m.
Four former Vols will be in action with Kansas City as they host the Bengals: safety Eric Berry, quarterback Tyler Bray, punter Dustin Colquitt and rookie offensive lineman Zach Fulton, who is expected to start at right guard. Berry should play the first quarter after suffering a heel injury recently. He has returned to practice. Bray is listed as the third quarterback, ahead of rookie Aaron Murray. He is expected to open the third quarter.

Seahawks at Broncos, 9 p.m.
In a rematch of the Super Bowl, champion Tony McDaniel and Seattle travel to Denver to take on QB Peyton Manning, punter Britton Colquitt and defensive end Malik Jackson. Manning will play early and then rest.  Malik Jackson plans to bring that enthusiasm to the game Thursday saying, "We are going to go out with the fire lit under our butts and we have something to prove and show." McDaniel has been taking 'rest days' and may not play.
