Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots, 4:35 p.m. ET on CBS
Green Bay Packers at Arizona Cardinals, 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC

Berry's Playoff Pick

VFL Eric Berry intercepted a pass from Houston's Brian Hoyer in the first quarter and tallied three tackles to help the Kansas City Chiefs shut out the Texans, 30-0, in their Wildcard Weekend matchup at NRG Stadium.

It was Berry's first postseason pick. Berry, who was named to the All-Pro team by the Associated Press last week, is in the NFL playoffs for the third time in his career. Saturday's win marked the first time Berry has advanced past the wild card round.

Manning Will Start For Broncos

During their first-round bye, Denver named VFL Peyton Manning as its starting quarterback for the Broncos' Divisional Round game against Pittsburgh on Jan. 17.

Manning started the Denver Broncos' first nine games of the season, leading the team to a 7-2 mark.

After suffering a plantar fascia tear, he sat out the next six games while recovering from the injury before returning in Denver's regular-season finale against San Diego on Jan. 3. Manning entered the game with the Broncos down 13-7 in the third quarter and directed the team on four scoring drives en route to a 27-20 win that gave Denver the No. 1 AFC seed and home-field advantage in the playoffs.

Manning is in the NFL playoffs for the 15th time in his storied career. He ranks second all-time in career postseason passing yards (6,800) and fourth in postseason touchdowns (38).

Mayo Makes Postseason Return

VFL Jerod Mayo makes his postseason return after he was sidelined due to injury during the New England Patriots' Super Bowl run last year.

Mayo has played in seven postseason games with 58 career tackles (29 solo) and one forced fumble.

Mayo is a veteran leader on the Patriots' defense and played in all 16 regular-season games. He missed most of the 2014 season with a torn patella tendon, but battled back in the offseason to be healthy for the start of 2015. Mayo and the New England defense held opponents to under 20 points seven times this year and he finished the regular season strong with 21 tackles over the final four games.

On Tuesday, Jan. 5, Baseball America named their Top 100 prospects entering the 2016 Major League Draft, including two of Tennessee's juniors: third baseman Nick Senzel (No. 5) and right-handed pitcher Kyle Serrano (No. 42).

This offseason, Senzel was named No. 14 on Major League Baseball's Top 50 Draft Prospects list, and was recently named a 2016 Preseason All-America selection by Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. Tabbed a 2015 Summer Collegiate All-American First Team player by Perfect Game earlier this year, Senzel hit .364 for the Cape Cod League's Brewster Whitecaps with a league-leading 33 RBI to earn a 2015 All-Star bid, Most Outstanding Pro Prospect and Cape Cod League Most Valuable Player honors. As a sophomore last season, he was also named a Preseason All-SEC player and hit .325 with a .399 on-base percentage in 50 starts for the Volunteers. He led UT in batting average, hits (65), doubles (12) and triples (5), while his 28 RBI and .399 OBP ranked second behind former All-SEC outfielder and Detroit Tigers first-round pick Christin Stewart.

Listed as the No. 42 prospect among BA's Top 100, Serrano led the Vols' pitching staff in 2015 with five wins, posting a 5-4 record with a 4.47 ERA over 22 appearances (eight starts). He recorded 47 strikeouts over his 54.1 innings pitched, the fourth-most innings worked on the squad. Serrano went 3-2 and tossed 36.2 innings in the 2015 regular summer season for the Orleans Firebirds. He recorded 38 strikeouts, walked eight batters and posted a 3.68 ERA. Serrano went on to throw 3.1 scoreless innings of work for the Firebirds in the Cape Cod League postseason, registering one save and seven strikeouts. Prior to attending Tennessee, Serrano was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 29th round (859th overall) of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Vols In The NFL - Week 17 Schedule

Berry Named To 4th Pro Bowl

VFL Eric Berry has earned a trip to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in his career (2010, 2012, 2013, 2015). Berry has 61 tackles, two interceptions and 10 passes deflected this year. His return this season from Hodgkin lymphoma has been inspirational and he is considered a top candidate for NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 10-5 with a playoff spot clinched entering Week 17. Berry, who ranks third on the team in tackles, played a major role in the Chiefs' turnaround after starting the year 1-5.

Ayers On Fire

VFL Robert Ayers is enjoying the best year of his seven-year NFL career. In just 11 games played, he had posted a career-high 8.5 sacks. He also set a new personal best with for passes deflected and is just five tackles away (34) of matching his career high of 39 (2011 and 2010 with Denver).

Ayers has recorded a sack in each of the New York Giants' last four games. He had 18 tackles and 6.5 sacks in the month of December.
