On Jan. 21, former Vols baseball star and longtime Major Leaguer Mike Smithson celebrates his birthday. Smithson pitched eight years in the majors with the Rangers, Twins and Red Sox. In 2009, he was named to Tennessee's All-Century team.

Smithson, who wore No. 28 at UT, was recently featured on the program's jersey countdown to first pitch.
