Join us in wishing a very Happy Birthday to two former Vols and one current, Gene McEver
(football), Luke Hochevar
(baseball) and Josh Richardson
McEver was "the best player I ever coached... the best I ever saw" according to Gen. Neyland. While at Tennessee, McEver was an All-Southern selection each year and was the first player to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Hochevar was one of the top-rated pitchers in the country. He had an NCAA-leading 11 wins and had a career-high 13 strikeouts. He also moved into the fifth-place on Tennessee's single-season wins list during his tenure. He currently plays for the Kansas City Royals.
Richardson, a senior, had a breakout junior year starting in 37 games and was named to the 2014 SEC All-Defensive Team. He was the team's third-leading scorer, averaging 10.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
