Happy Birthday - Feb. 16: Ivy Renfroe and Marie-Eve Nault

On February 16, we send birthday wishes to two former Lady Vols, softball's Ivy Renfroe and soccer's Marie-Eve Nault.

Ivy Renfroe made her mark in the record books while playing for the Lady Vols, she concluded her career ranked second in school history in appearances (176) and wins (97). She is also third in career innings pitched (749.2) and strikeouts (737). She finished her Tennessee career as one of the most dependable postseason pitchers, totaling 18 wins in the NCAA Tournament and helping UT to three WCWS appearances (2010, 2012, 2013)

Marie-Eve Nault played for the Lady Vols from 2000-2003 and is currently a Canadian soccer defender who plays for KIF Örebro and the Canada women's national soccer team. She represented Canada at the 2012 Summer Olympics winning the bronze medal.

Happy Birthday - Feb. 11: Greer, Harrison, Nix, Rolfs

Lots of birthdays to celebrate on February 11. Former volleyball middle blocker DeeDee Harrison and recent soccer graduate and goalkeeper Jessica Rolfs.

     

Football defensive back Jabari Greer, of the New Orleans Saints was born on February 11, 1982. He has played in the NFL since 2004.



We also pay tribute to the late Dyron Nix who would have celebrated his birthday today. Nix starred for the Volunteers and head coach Don DeVoe from 1986-89 and was a two-time first-team All-SEC performer (1988, 1989). He ranks eighth on Tennessee's all-time scoring list with 1,877 career points. 

Soccer Alums Nault & R. Wilkinson, Canada Take On USA Tonight

Tennessee soccer alums Marie-Eve Nault and Rhian Wilkinson suit of for the Canadian National Team tonight to face Team USA in an international friendly played in Frisco, Texas. The match starts at 9 p.m. ET and will be televised on FoxSports 1.

Hannah Wilkinson Among Top 15 For 2015 NWSL Draft

TopDrawerSoccer.com listed Tennessee rising senior Hannah Wilkinson as one of its top 15 players who will be eligible for the 2015 NWSL draft. She is one of three SEC players on the list. The other two are Kentucky's Arin Gilliland and South Carolina goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo.

Soccer Takes Part in "Race To End Racism" (1/18)

 

On Saturday, the Tennessee soccer team participated in the YWCA's Race Against Racism 5k, which is part of the 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Commission celebration events.

The Big Orange cheered on race participants as they neared the finish of the 5K downtown Knoxville course that started and ended at the YWCA Phillis Wheatley Center and stretched down McCalla, Jackson and Willow Avenues and onto Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

On Dec. 30, we celebrate the birthdays of senior women's soccer player Tori Bailey, freshman rower Bridget Boland, sophomore right-handed pitcher Trevor Charpie and junior swimmer Erin Gaeckle.

On Dec. 12, we celebrate the birthday of Vols redshirt junior wide receiver and Knoxville native Brett Parisi. We also wish former Lady Vols Leslie Cikra of the volleyball team and Cat Hosfield of the softball team a Happy Birthday today.

On Dec. 5, we send Happy Birthday wishes to senior football defensive lineman and Knoxville native Daniel Hood, freshman soccer player and Knoxville native Kathryn Culhane and sophomore soccer player and Hixson native Peyton Thomas.

From the archives, former baseball and football Vol Alan Cockrell turns 51 on Dec. 5. He became the first freshman to start at quarterback for the Vols in 1981. On the diamond, Cockrell was an All-American outfielder for UT and was drafted ninth overall by the Giants in 1984. He made his major league debut with the Rockies in 1996 and went on to coach with the Rockies and Mariners.


 

Happy Birthday - Nov. 12: A. Carter, M. Goodwin, B. Wade, R. Wilks

Celebrating birthday on Nov. 12 are Lady Vol hoops star Andraya Carter, who scored 10 points in last night's win at North Carolina, senior rower Michelle Goodwin and junior soccer player Brittney Wade.
