Future Tennessee Lady Vol and current USA Softball Junior Women's National Team pitcher Erin Gabriel (freshman in 2013) recently struck out an incredible 34 batters over 16 innings in a win over nationally-ranked Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage School. On Sunday she paid a visit to "FOX and Friends" to talk about that amazing effort and to take the opportunity to strikeout the show's hosts. Recent Tennessee Lady Vol softball signee and current USA Softball Junior National Team member Erin Gabriel turned in one of the most impressive pitching performances of all time at any level of softball on Monday night (April 9) against nationally-ranked Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage School. The Poland (Ohio) Seminary pitcher and two-time Gatorade Ohio Softball Player of the Year pitched all 16 innings during Poland Seminary's 2-1 victory, and in the process, struck out a staggering 34 batters. A trio of birthdays in the Tennessee Athletics student-athlete family today: Celebrating on Feb. 18: softball senior Ashley Andrews, senior runner Charity Honeycutt and sophomore jumper Allison Outerbridge.

On Feb. 17, we wish Happy Birthday to softball freshman Hannah Akamine and senior pole vaulter Joe Berry.

After posting a perfect 5-0 record with a 1.13 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 31 innings last weekend at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz., Tennessee sophomore pitcher Ellen Renfroe has been chosen by CollegeSports360.com as one of its "Primetime Pacesetters of the Week" for February 14.
