Lady Vol great and Olympic medalist Christine Magnuson announced her retirement from competitive swimming
at the end of the FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
Magnuson enjoyed one of the greatest collegiate and professional swimming careers in Lady Vol history. As a senior, she won the NCAA title in 2008 just months before making a splash on the international stage. She represented Team USA at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, taking silver in the 100-meter butterfly and doing the same in the 400 medley relay.
She earned her spot on the U.S. team for the 2013 World Championships, where she finished 10th in the 50 butterfly.
