Also from the archives, May 11 was the day that former football player Clyde Fuson was born in 1923. "Ig"  is one of seven Vols to have their number (No. 62) retired in football. He was one of four Vols to not return home from World War II and was memorialized along with Bill Nowling, Rudy Klarer and Willis Tucker. Fuson, a native of Middlesboro, Ky., and fullback on the 1942 team, who shared playing time with Nowling. Ig had a younger brother, Herschel (Ug) Fuson, who was a freshman on the 1942 team and transferred to West Point where he graduated.

Vols Climb to 11th in National Swimming Rankings

The Tennessee men's swimming and diving team (4-4, 2-1 SEC) rose from unranked to No. 11 in the CSCAA Division I Men's Team Rankings on Wednesday. 

The newest rankings reflect the Vols' Senior Day victory over No. 12 Georgia two weeks ago.

Lady Vols Bolt to No. 4 in National Swimming Ranks

Coming off a key win over perpetual national contender Georgia last weekend, the Lady Vols skyrocketed up to No. 4 in the latest CSCAA Women's Division I National Swimming Rankings.

Tennessee (8-0, 3-0 SEC) had entered that meet ranked 11th nationally.
