Happy Birthday - Nov. 22: Ellen Mullins & Zach Rogers

On Nov. 22 we wish Happy Birthday to volleyball sophomore Ellen Mullins and football junior Zach Rogers.

Harrison and Sahagian Featured on Volleyball Voices

As a result of beating South Carolina and Florida the road in the late September, junior DeeDee Harrison and sophomore Carly Sahagian were honored by the Southeastern Conference. Harrison was tabbed the league's Defensive Player of the Week, while Sahagian picked up SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

The duo was recently featured on Volleyball Voices, which is a site run by former Lady Vol April Chapple, who was an All-American at UT and a member of the Lady Vol Hall of Fame.

Missy Whittemore on SEC Volleyball

Missy Whittemore has known the ins and outs of Southeastern Conference volleyball for nearly two decades, first as an All-SEC setter at Florida and, for nearly a decade, as a college volleyball analyst for Sun Sports and CSS.

Four weeks into the 2011 SEC volleyball campaign, Whittemore sat down with the SEC Digital Network to give her analysis of the season so far.

SECSports Blog About Rob Patrick's 300th Win

The SEC Digital Network's Sean Cartell recently posted a blog about the importance of Tennessee head coach Rob Patrick's 300th win and what he has done to help legitimize the sport of volleyball in the Southeastern Conference over the last 15 years.

What Patrick has meant to Southeastern Conference volleyball, however, can't go unnoticed. Consistently turning out teams that have competed with the top squads in the nation gave the SEC legitimacy and respect among other conferences.

Lady Vols Close to Re-Entering Top 25

The Lady Vols are close to being back in the national top 25 volleyball poll following an undefeated weekend in Blacksburg, Va.

Tennessee (7-2) received 63 points in the AVCA Coaches Poll, which was released Tuesday evening. The Lady Vols are ranked 26th, behind Ohio State, which has 76 points. 

Tennessee was ranked in the 25 for school-record tying 19 consecutive polling periods before the team dropped to 26th on Aug. 29 despite starting the year 3-0 after winning the Comcast Lady Vol Classic.

California is ranked first in the poll, followed by Stanford and Illinois.
