Recent Tennessee graduate Natalie Pluskota has been making her way through the International Tennis Federation Pro Circuit this summer.
After winning the U.S. Open Southern Sectional Qualifying
in Alpharetta, Ga., she will play in the U.S. Open National tournament Aug. 17-20 at Yale University to earn a wild card spot in the Grand Slam tournament.
Pluskota defeated Alabama junior Mary Anne Macfarlane 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4 to earn her bid into the qualifier, rallying from a 4-0 third-set deficit to win the last six games
in 100-degree heat.
Most recently the Newnan, Ga. native traveled west, and north, to Vancouver where she has found herself in the semifinals of the Odlum Brown VanOpen doubles tournament.
Partnered with Jacqueline Cako
of the Arizona State women's tennis team, the duo will play Friday, August 3 on Centre Court at approximately 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT

Also of note, returning junior Brynn Boren has spent much of her summer in Europe playing in clay court tournaments.
