Dear Campers
Are you looking for a summer dive camp for 2009?

Welcome to Tennessee Diving's 2009 Summer Dive Camps. We are hosting 3 weeks of residential camps, filled with fun and education, during the month of June. Come improve your diving and join in on the fun at the host site for the 2008 Olympic Selection Camp.

Registration and enrollment
Our camps are open to boys and girls aged 8 and older, recent high school graduates, current collegiate divers, as well as anyone else interested in improving their skills in diving. Campers are required to have at least one of the following requirements: 1) attended at least 1 week at a diving camp or 2) has/have participated in a club diving team for at least six months, or 3) been a member of a high school dive team for a least 1 year. You are encouraged to sign up early to ensure a space, but sign ups will also be open throughout the camp weeks. A $250 deposit is required for all sessions that you sign up for. The remaining fees/balance will be required by May 2nd for those campers registering early. If you sign up after May 2nd please be sure to include the total camp cost along with your registration form. The Coaches
Dave Parrington
  • Head Men's and Women's Diving Coach at the University of Tennessee.
  • Olympic representative as a diver and coach, coached multiple male and female NCAA and SEC Champions, 1994 World Champion Evan Stewart, and multiple international medallists and representatives for numerous countries across the world. Multiple time SEC Men's and Women's Diving Coach of the Year.
Shannon Roy
  • Associate Head Coach for Tennessee Diving
  • World Championship bronze medallist, World Cup silver medallist, Commonwealth Games 3m Champion, multi time Australian National Senior and Junior Champion, NCAA runner-up. Coached junior national champions for both Australia and America, along with Junior World representatives, and Senior international representatives for Australia, Great Britain, and USA.
We also have guest coaches join our camps.
The facilities
  • 21 springboards across 3 pools
  • Complete indoor and outdoor platform facilities
  • Brand new indoor facility including weight room and indoor dryland equipment
  • Dryboard and trampoline overhead harnesses for spotting and skill progression
  • Bubble/sparging system, and Tivo for visual aid
The program
Each camp will consist of 5 days of intensive training with each day including 2 training sessions per day. Each session will include a dry and wet training programs. Sessions will also include extensive stretching, conditioning, and spotting programs each. Along with diving sessions we will also be educating our campers with information sessions on areas such as nutrition, sport psychology, goal setting, preparing for training and competitions, video analysis, and some interactive games.

Camp costs
  • Residential; 1 week = $540, 2 weeks = $1000, all 3 weeks = $1500
  • Commuter; 1 week = $400, 2 weeks = $775, all 3 weeks = $1100
  • Housing and meals
    • Campers will be housed in the UT dorms located mere minutes walking distance to the aquatic center
    • Meals will be provided on a daily basis, 3 times a day both at the UT dining facilities, as well as catered healthy meals.
    What to bring
    Towel, chamois, swim suits, workout clothes, (shorts and t-shirts), and any other required diving equipment, toiletries, alarm clock. Casual clothes are recommended for times away from the pool. All campers will receive a free Tennessee Diving Camp t-shirt.
    Travel
    Campers should arrive at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on Tennessee's campus on the Sunday of the week they're attending, between 1:00pm and 3:30pm for sign in and registration, prior to the first diving session at 4:00pm. Each camp will conclude at 1:00pm each Friday and campers are asked to depart by 2:00pm. Transportation to and/or from the airport will be provided (upon request) for a charge of $15 one way and $25 round trip.
