UT CHEER AND DANCE TRYOUTS!!

Cheer Tryout Procedure

The main purpose of the tryout is to select the best overall representatives of the University of Tennessee. This factor, as well as demonstrated technical skills, aids the coaches in choosing the best all-around members for each team. During the weekend clinic, the coaching staff makes several cuts with the assistance of collegiate coaches until all of the final teams are selected.

The format of the tryout is that of a clinic where skills progression taught by coaches and former Tennessee cheerleaders are evaluated. Participants are then given ample time and opportunities to practice and demonstrate the skills before cuts are made. If a participant is selected to continue, attendance is mandatory for the remainder of the clinic.
