A total of 469 freshmen student-athletes were named to the 2005 SEC Freshmen Academic Honor Roll, Thursday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive.

27 student athletes from the University of Tennessee were named to the list including 10 Vols and 17 Lady Vols.

The University of South Carolina topped the list with 76 freshmen student-athletes on the academic roster. The University of Florida was close behind with 63 honorees. The University of Georgia was next with 47 freshmen student-athletes honored.

The 2005 SEC Freshmen Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2004-05 academic calendar.
