The Tennessee swimming and diving team held its 23rd Orange and White meet on Friday afternoon at the Student Aquatic Center with the White coming away with a 112.5 to 102.5 victory over the Orange. The win extends the White squad's lead in the all-time series to a 13-10 margin.

The Orange squad won the opening 400 medley relay to grab an early lead, but the White team quickly gained control of the meet my taking the top two spots in the next four events. Senior Steve Cromer won the 1000 freestyle (9:40.68) for the White, followed by Brett Tannhauser's win in the 200 freestyle (1:41.48). Chris Hussey of the White followed the lead of his distance freestyle teammates and won the 50 freestyle in a time of 20.39. Ben Brink finished of the White win streak with a win in the 200 individual medley (1:54.42).

Shannon Roy broke the string with a victory for the Orange in one-meter diving (359.475). The Orange won the next two events with Jamie Graves winning the 200 butterfly (1:54.00) and Michael Gilliam winning the 100 freestyle (44.19), but the Orange squad was unable to catch the fast-starting White team.

Greg Simpson won the 200 backstroke for the White with a time of 1:54.65 and Tannhauser of the White won his second event with a time of 4:36.09 in the 500 freestyle. Roy claimed the three-meter diving event (433.20), his second win on the day, followed by Chris Stewart winning the 200 breaststroke (2:06.12) for the Orange. The Orange also won concluding 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:02.48.

Next Friday, the Volunteers play host to the SEC East Dual Meet Extravaganza at 2 p.m. at the Student Aquatic Center. Florida, Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina will visit Knoxville for fast and furious afternoon of competition among five of the top teams in the country. Each of the five finished among the top 20 teams at the NCAA Championships last season.
