The University of Tennessee and Host Communications/Vol Network proudly announce the arrival of the 20th anniversary collector's edition DVD of "The 1985 SugarVols" as the latest edition to the Vol Network Home Entertainment lineup. The DVD will start arriving at participating JCPenney stores across the state of Tennessee on Tuesday (September 20).
The two-disc DVD collection is the complete story and history of one of the most beloved teams in Tennessee football history. All told the set contains over seven hours of footage. The gritty 1985 Tennessee Volunteers captured the hearts of Big Orange fans everywhere by winning the school's first SEC championship in 16 years and routing No. 2 Miami (Fla.) in the Sugar Bowl.
Disc one contains the '85 regular season and Sugar Bowl highlight videos from that year. Bonus features include a 20th anniversary lettermen's roundtable discussion, special one-on-one interviews with Dale Jones, Daryl Dickey and Charles Davis, the "Johnny Majors Show" from the '85 Alabama game, pre-season and bowl specials along with on the field and locker room footage from the Sugar Bowl, Auburn, Alabama and Vanderbilt games that season.
Disc Two features the entire ABC Sports telecast of the 1986 Sugar Bowl with Keith Jackson's and Frank Broyles' commentary. Host Communications and the Vol Network partnered with ABC Sports on the project to make this famous Tennessee victory available to UT fans for the first time ever.
"The 1985 SugarVols" commemorative edition DVD will be available in the Simply for Sports departments at participating JCPenney stores across the Volunteers state beginning Tuesday. The DVD is also available by shopping the Vol Network Store online at www.volnetwork.tv.
