Rick Starratt

Sept. 20, 2004

Rick Starratt, a five-year veteran of the Tennessee women's athletics staff, Monday was named Internet Communications Director for the UT athletics department. In his new position, Starratt is responsible for coordinating both the men's and women's athletics department web sites.

A Norton, Mass., native, Starratt earned his bachelor's degree in English from Wheaton (Mass.) College in 1996. He completed his master's degree in sports administration at UT in 1998.

Starratt managed the Lady Vols Web site from 1996-98 before taking a position with Total Sports in Raleigh, N.C. He returned to UT in 2001 to resume operation of the women's athletics Web site.

"We think the UT Web sites are a very important way for Vol and Lady Vol fans to stay up to date with all of our sports programs," Director of Athletics Mike Hamilton said. "We believe Rick will continue to look for innovative ways to deliver the latest information regarding UT sports on the web to our fans not only in Tennessee but around the world."

Starratt and his wife, Laura, reside in Knoxville with their dog Yaz.
