Christian "Chris" Besanceney has joined the University of Tennessee athletic department as assistant athletic director for ticketing for men's and women's athletics departments.
Besanceney will be responsible for directing all aspects of departmental ticket operations, including working closely with the marketing and development offices to promote sales and attendance, guaranteeing compliance with all state, university, NCAA and SEC regulations relating to the ticket office, and handling all post-season service and sales.
"Chris brings a tremendous amount of experience to his role and will complement the initiatives already in place to improve customer service," said John Currie, associate athletic director for external operations. "His experience at Michigan State in handling multiple high profile sports with large season ticket volume will help him manage our operations with football, Lady Vol basketball and men's basketball.
Since 2000, Besanceney has served as the head athletic ticket manager for Michigan State University, where he was responsible for all ticketing, including post-season ticketing and donor seating.
Prior to that, he served as assistant ticket manager at Michigan State and assistant ticket manager for the University of Missouri-Columbia Athletic Ticket Office.
Besanceney earned his bachelor's degree in 1998 from Michigan State University, where he served four years as a football manager under Coach George Perles.
