Team ENHANCE Coordinator
Kristen Martin is a licensed clinical social worker and in her eighth year as the coordinator of the Team ENHANCE program. Her primary responsibility is providing individual and group counseling to Lady Vol athletes. She also consults with coaches and teams, sets up educational seminars, and conducts assessments on an as needed basis. Martin is a member of the USA Swimming Disordered Eating Task Force as well as a member of the Female Athlete Triad Coalition. Previously, she worked as a therapist in a residential treatment center for young women. Martin claimed Social Worker of the Year honors in 1998 for the Knox Area Branch of the National Association of Social Workers. The Orange, Calif., native received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Pepperdine in 1991 and a master's degree in clinical social work from UT in 1997. Martin also understands intimately the athlete's mind as she lettered all four years on the Pepperdine swim team and captained the squad during her senior season. Martin lives in Knoxville with her husband, Mike, and their three children, Ryan, Anna and Caroline.
