2012-13 - FRESHMAN
DUAL MEET RECAP- Won a race in her first collegiate meet, taking the 200 backstroke (2:02.93) in the meet at UNC Wilmington
- Recorded three top-four finishes in the Lady Vols' win over Louisville, taking second in the 1650 free in 17:00.43
- Swam a career best in the 1000 freestyle (10:11.31)
- Finished out her first semester as a Lady Vol by setting four personal bests in the Tennessee Invitational. Meet was highlighted by a third-place finish in the 400 IM (4:21.59) and fourth place in the 500 freestyle (4:57.89)
- Set personal best in the 1000 freestyle in the Florida meet (10:07.65)
- Helped improve her NCAA standing in the 200 backstroke, touching the wall in 1:55.88 at the Last Chance Meet
SEC RECAP
- The Lady Vols' IM leader placed in all three of her individual events: the 200 IM, the 400 IM and the 200 backstroke
- Her best finish came in the 400, where she ended in 11th place
- Created two new career best times in the 200 IM (1:59.52) and the 400 IM (4:11.10)
- Took 12th in the 200 backstroke in 1:55.94, an NCAA B cut time
NCAA RECAP
- Improved her previous best time in the 200 back to 1:55.57, good for 33rd place
- Swam the 200 IM in 2:01.20 and the 400 IM in 4:17.24
PRIOR TO TENNESSEE
- Carner was a three-time Peninsula District champion at Menchville High School in Newport News, Va., in addition to picking up Eastern Region championships the past two seasons
- Carner also qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials in the 200m back and the 400 IM
- In 2009, she led Menchville to a perfect 9-0 record and a Peninsula District championship
- A Swimming World Magazine five-star recruit, Carner finished runner-up at the 2011 National Club Swimming Association (NCSA) in the 400y IM
- The Virginia state record holder in the 200y back (1:56.72), she also competes for the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins Swim Team.
