DUAL MEET RECAP

  • Competed in all five fall events for the Vols to start his final season
  • Recorded a pair of season bests at the Georgia Tech Invitational to end the fall. He won the 100 backstroke in 49.05 in his first backstroke event of the year. He placed third in the 100 butterfly in 48.57.
  • Clocked first two NCAA B-cut times of the season at the AT&T Winter National Championships, in the 100 free (43.54) and the 100 back (47.65)

SEC RECAP

  • Helped swim the third-fastest relay time in the nation--and the fastest in UT history--at 1:24.84 to earn a bronze medal in the 200 Medley Relay with Renato Prono, Oystein Hetland and Luke Percy
  • Rairden earned a second bronze medal as a part of the 800 Medley Relay with Sean Lehane Gustav Aberj Ledjstrom and Tristan Slater (1:33.73)
  • Earned a fourth place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:17.11) with Troy Tillman, Percy and Aberg Ledjstrom
  • Earned a bronze medal in the 100 butterfly (45.92), which means he now owns the top two times in this event in UT history
  • Swam the fastest qualifying time in the 100 backstroke and ended up with a bronze medal with a time of 46.05
  • Lehane, Prono, Rairden and Percy finished in fifth place in the 400 Medley Relay (3:08.20)

NCAA RECAP

  • Competition was limited because of an illness suffered early in the meet. Competed in only one individual event but was able to swim four of five planned relays
  • Helped the Vols to All-America honors in the 400 freestyle relay (8th), 200 freestyle relay (10th), 200 medley relay (12th) and 400 medley relay (14th)
  • Ended career with 13 All-America honors
  • Placed 25th in the 100 freestyle and did not swim the 100 butterfly

  • Stepped into the role as the Vols' top all-around swimmer, excelling at the freestyle, backstroke and butterfly
  • Placed first in season opener at UNC Wilmington in 100 backstroke (51.76); Placed fifth in 200 backstroke (1:57.33)
  • Swam two season bests against Louisville in the 100 backstroke (49.41) and 200 backstroke (1:51.04)
  • Swam a season best against Ohio State in the 200 freestyle (1:39.02)
  • Limited by illness at the Tennessee Invitational, but still took third in the 100 freestyle.
  • Bagged a pair of victories in the 100 freestyle (43.97) and the 200 freestyle (1:37.74) in the Vols' upset win at home against Georgia
  • Finished second the 100 backstroke and third in the 100 freestyle in the Vols' season finale against Florida

SEC RECAP

  • Took home a whopping five silver medals and one bronze in his third SEC Championships
  • Finished second in all three of his individual events: the 100 freestyle (42.74), the 100 backstroke (46.07 - career best) and the 100 butterfly (46.19 - school record/career best)
  • Time in the finals in the 100 butterfly beat Michael DeRocco's 2011 program record
  • Set a career best in the 100 freestyle preliminaries in 42.64
  • Also part of the silver medal winning 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay teams. The 200 medley relay's time of 1:24.53 was a school record
  • The 400 medley relay team took bronze

NCAA RECAP

  • Earned five All-America certificates, the most he has collected in a season
  • Picked up first-team All-America honors for the first time in his career as he helped lead the 800 freestyle relay team to a seventh-place finish
  • Took 10th in the 100 freestyle, swimming in 42.92
  • Also earned All-America honors in the 200 freestyle relay, the 400 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay

  • Placed 7th during the SEC Championship, making the B-Cut with a time of 1:35.89 in the 200 Freestyle
  • Made the B-Cut in the SEC-Prelim. with the time of 47.01 in the 100 Backstroke
  • Had a career best and made the B-Cut during the SEC Championship in the 100 Backstroke where he placed second with the time of 46.68
  • Placed 4th and had a career best during the SEC Championship with the time of 1:44.35 making the B-Cut
  • Finished 40th in the 200 freestyle at NCAAs in 1:37.61
  • Swam the 100 backstroke at NCAAs in 49.29.
