DUAL MEET RECAP

  • Stepped into the role as the Vols' top all-around swimmer, excelling at the freestyle, backstroke and butterfly
  • Placed first in season opener at UNC Wilmington in 100 backstroke (51.76); Placed fifth in 200 backstroke (1:57.33)
  • Swam two season bests against Louisville in the 100 backstroke (49.41) and 200 backstroke (1:51.04)
  • Swam a season best against Ohio State in the 200 freestyle (1:39.02)
  • Limited by illness at the Tennessee Invitational, but still took third in the 100 freestyle.
  • Bagged a pair of victories in the 100 freestyle (43.97) and the 200 freestyle (1:37.74) in the Vols' upset win at home against Georgia
  • Finished second the 100 backstroke and third in the 100 freestyle in the Vols' season finale against Florida

SEC RECAP

  • Took home a whopping five silver medals and one bronze in his third SEC Championships
  • Finished second in all three of his individual events: the 100 freestyle (42.74), the 100 backstroke (46.07 - career best) and the 100 butterfly (46.19 - school record/career best)
  • Time in the finals in the 100 butterfly beat Michael DeRocco's 2011 program record
  • Set a career best in the 100 freestyle preliminaries in 42.64
  • Also part of the silver medal winning 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay teams. The 200 medley relay's time of 1:24.53 was a school record
  • The 400 medley relay team took bronze

NCAA RECAP

  • Earned five All-America certificates, the most he has collected in a season
  • Picked up first-team All-America honors for the first time in his career as he helped lead the 800 freestyle relay team to a seventh-place finish
  • Took 10th in the 100 freestyle, swimming in 42.92
  • Also earned All-America honors in the 200 freestyle relay, the 400 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay

  • Had a career best and made the B-Cut during the SEC Championship in the 100 Backstroke where he placed second with the time of 46.68
  • Placed 4th and had a career best during the SEC Championship with the time of 1:44.35 making the B-Cut
  • Finished 40th in the 200 freestyle at NCAAs in 1:37.61
  • Swam the 100 backstroke at NCAAs in 49.29.
