"It is a real pleasure to have an athlete of this maturity in the program. Not only is she talented, but she knows how to bring out the best in those around her during training. We have decided to expand her events from primarily mid to distance free to also include the 400 IM. She will obviously be one that will be a major contender at both SEC's and NCAA's in the spring."

NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL: A member of the 2000 United States Olympic Swimming and Diving Team...Earned a gold medal in the 800-meter freestyle relay...Swam with the 1999 USA Swimming Pan American Games Team, earning a silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle relay and taking fourth place in both the 200-meter and 400-meter freestyle...In 1997, she also competed with the USA Swimming National Junior Team ...Has been ranked as high as 10th in the world in the 1500m freestyle...Competed at the 2004 USA National Championships in August...Took seventh place in the 200-meter freestyle, earned a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle and snagged a pair of third-place finishes in the 800-meter and 1500-meter freestyles.

HIGH SCHOOL: 11-time All-American...Named the state Female Swimmer of the Year in 1997, 1998 and 2000...Helped lead West High School to back-to-back state championships in 1999 and 2000...Eight-time Tennessee Individual Event Champion....At time of graduation, owned 14 different Southeastern Swimming Age Group freestyle records...Holds state record in 500y freestyle, 4:45.07...A member of 400y freestyle relay squad which set state mark in 3:31.62 in 1998.
