GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Saving her best for last, Lady Vol junior diver Gabrielle Trudeau grabbed fourth on the platform with a season-best mark on the final day of the 2011 Southeastern Conference Diving Championships at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
Trudeau recorded a score of 256.85 to just miss the podium on Sunday afternoon. The finish was the highest of her career at the league meet in any event.
She also improved her season-best zone score by over 27 points, as she tallied a 229.75 at the Tennessee Diving Invitational.
"Gaby stepped it up in the finals after qualifying seventh in the prelims and to finish in fourth-place," UT Head Diving Coach Dave Parrington said. "I'm excited for her and now we'll move ahead and get ready for the zone meet."
Advancing to the finals after placing seventh in the preliminary round with a score of 247.90, the Montreal, Canada, native scored in all three events at the championships, including placing seventh on the 1-meter board yesterday with a career-best score of 304.90.
Florida's Monica Dodson won her second event over the past three days, notching the victory on the towers with a score of 325.20.
Heading into the SEC Swimming Championships that will take place over Wednesday through Saturday, the Lady Vols are currently in seventh with 32 points.
