LAS VEGAS. Nev.-- Sophomore Brittany Fulmer took home her first-career diving crown on Sunday afternoon, topping the field in the one-meter competition at the UNLV Invitational. The Maryville, Tenn., native finished with a career-high total of 257.30 points, narrowly missing out on the NCAA Zone Qualifying mark of 265.00 points.
"She did an awesome job today," Diving Coach Dave Parrington said. "I'm very, very pleased for her. She has been battling away, working hard and that is starting to pay off."
Freshman Lauren LeRoy (Oshkosh, Wis.) followed up her victory on Saturday with a solid fourth-place showing. She ended the event with a final tally of 238.00 points.
The divers are now off until Jan. 3, when they will travel to Athens, Ga. for
