Seniors Brent Sterling and Jodie McGroarty were named the male and female SEC Divers of the Week, the conference office released Tuesday.
The two fifth-year divers enjoyed a productive three days at the Tennessee Diving Invitational last week.
Competing only on the springboards, McGroarty won the 3-meter competition for the third time this season, posting a six-dive score of 331.55. She has been consistent on the 3 meter in her final season, having posted a score of at least 325 five times this season.
McGroarty was also took second on the 1-meter springboard (295.30).
Sterling, a Knoxville native, finished in the top 10 in all three diving events in a meet that featured 15 schools. He took fourth on the 3-meter springboard (370.00), eighth on the 1-meter springboard (315.40) and ninth on the platform (304.35).
Sterling's score on the platform was a career best and the first time he had scored more than 300 from the tower. He also threw down his second-best career score of 394.45 in the preliminaries of the 3-meter competition, his top event.
UT has now picked up three SEC Diver of the Week honors this season. Junior Tori Lamp took the honors after her performance at the Tennessee Invitational, the final meet of the fall semester.
