Senior Lindsay Gendron earned SEC Swimmer of the Week honors after leading the Tennessee swimming and diving women's team to an upset of Florida in the regular season finale.
Gendron put in a standout performance in her last home meet, winning three individual races and swimming in anchor leg final, deciding 400-yard freestyle relay.
Gendron started her day by winning the 200 freestyle in 1 minute, 45.59 seconds and followed up that performance by winning the 500 freestyle in 4:44.63. She took first in the 100 butterfly in a career-best time of 53.60.
The UT squad needed a victory in the final event to take out Florida. Gendron teamed up with Faith Johnson, Kate McNeilis and Lauren Solernou to win the 400 freestyle relay in 3:19.73 to end the meet and seal the team win.
Tennessee's next meet will be the SEC Championships. The meet runs Feb. 18-22 in Athens, Ga.
