THURSDAY AT SECS: WHAT TO WATCH

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --The SEC Swimming and Diving Championships hit the midway point Thursday with 10 individual champions to be crowned at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

Doors open for preliminaries at 9 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m.

Here’s a look at what to watch:

What to Watch for Thursday:
10 a.m.- Swimming Preliminaries (Women & Men)- 400 IM, 100 Butterfly, 200 Freestyle
1 p.m. – Men’s 3-meter Preliminaries
6 p.m.- Swimming & Diving Finals (Women & Men)- 400 IM, 100 Butterfly, Men’s 3-meter, 200 Freestyle

Tennessee Notes: Junior Liam Stone enters the meet as the top seed in the men’s 3-meter diving competition. Stone won the SEC 1-meter championship on Tuesday, and had previously won the SEC gold in the 3-meter springboard at the 2015 SEC Championship as a freshman. At that meet, Stone set a school and SEC meet-record when he won the title with a score of 463.50.

Junior Sam McHugh is the third seed in the 400 IM event. McHugh finished fifth in the event with a 3:44.28 time in the final. In 2015, McHugh received a SEC silver medal in the 200-yard butterfly.

Freshman Meghan Small, a three-time SEC Freshman of the Week, enters Thursday as the 12th seed in the 400 IM event and the 13th seed in the 200 freestyle event. She recorded 11 NCAA B-cut times in her first fall semester at Tennessee.

Tess Cieplucha is the 13th seed in the 400 IM event with a time of 4:12.32. Cieplucha also earned the SEC Freshman of the Week honors this season.

All-American sophomore Madeline Banic is the 10th seed in the women’s 100 butterfly. As a freshman last season, Banic earned three SEC gold medals in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. She also earned two SEC bronze medals in the 50 free and 100 butterfly.

Ryan Coetzee, a junior All-American, is the 25th seed in the men’s 100 butterfly with a time of 47.77. At the 2016 SEC Championship, Coetzee set his personal best in the 100-yard butterfly with a final time of 47.33.

TICKETS: Tickets ordered in advance can be picked up at will-call in the player pass-gate area. General Admission tickets are available at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center ticket office prior to each session. Ticket office hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Ticket prices are $10 for prelims and $15 for finals.

PARKING: Spectator parking is available in the Kingston Pike Building Lot (SC40), located off Metron Center Way at 2309 Kingston Pike. Please use the gravel lot for meet parking.
