Thursday Night at the NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS — Sophomore Madeline Banic, freshman Meghan Small and the 200-yard freestyle relay team will swim consolation finals Thursday night at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.

Events begin at 6 p.m. Eastern.

200 FREE RELAY

Consolation Final: Tennessee (1:28.07)

The team of Kira Toussaint, Erika Brown, Madeline Banic and Meghan Small recorded the 10th-fastest preliminary time of 1:28.07.

200 IM

Consolation Final: Meghan Small (1:55.71)

Small narrowly missed the top eight in the 200 individual medley, swimming the prelims in ninth in 1:55.71, making her the top seed in the consolation final. She won the SEC title in the event last month.

50 FREESTYLE

Consolation Final: Madeline Banic (21.92)

Banic, the SEC champion in the 50 freestyle, swam the 10th-fastest time in the event (21.92 seconds) to be the second-fastest qualifier in the consolation final. Kira Toussaint was 36th in 22.45.
